Dear Bob,
As I close my eyes to reflect on the first time we met, I realise that I must have been just a baby taking my first steps! That was long ago: 55 years!
What I remember most about our encounters is that you were part of the fun and magical memories of my childhood! When you came to the farm, you would play guitar for us, sing songs (with your favorite: Fly Me To The Moon which I still think of you EVERY time it plays!!!), tell jokes (wake up Polly!), play hockey in the field, have long talks about life (you were my great confident) what great time we had! All these special moments with you added a special spice to my life that warms my heart to this day!
And what about that amazing trip to Cayman where we would sit in the hammock together and talk about all kind of things! This first trip to the islands made me fall in love with the warm and blue waters of the ocean, the sandy beaches and the amazing beauty of shells in a variety of colors and shapes (I still have the sunrise shells, baby tear, fan coral and sand collected on that beach!). The Cayman trip ignited a thirst in me for traveling and discovering the islands. Throughout the years, I have gone on twenty plus trips down south and they have brought so much joy and wonder in my life but that first trip was the most magical of them all! Every time I walk on a beach, swim in the warm ocean and pick up a seashell, it brings me back to Cayman and the priceless memories that come with it! Thanks for making it all happen!
Bob, your presence in my life added a touch of magic that will last a lifetime! Thank you for being that generous, fun loving and happy guy! Wishing you an amazing 80th birthday celebration!!! May it be filled with giggles, hugs and lots of love!
